Douglas D-558-1 Skystreak

This is a particularly rare aircraft for such a small museum. This is one of only two surviving D-558-1's The D-558-1 was capable of Mach 1 flight under jet thrust, the first aircraft to achieve this feat. There were three of these -1 model aircraft made, of which the second crashed in 1948.
