In the news of recent because this is the aircraft type that a young Geo. W. Bush accumulated 100hrs on. It was the Air Forces first all weather Mach 2 Interceptor, but led a troubled life, lacking power and reliability. Eventually replaced by the F-106 Delta Dart, a much improved design.
