The F-8 was a mach 1+ fighter used mainly by the US Navy, but also saw service with the French Naval Air arm. It's unusual rotating wing was a feature that allowed it to get airborne from the shorter, older carriers. The aircraft was used as the basis for the highly acclaimed A-7 Corsair II that followed.
This F-8 was found at Davis Montham (1999)
This F-8 was at the New England Aircraft Museum (2001)
