The North American F107 was a fighter-bomber prototype that was intended to fill a Mach-2 requirement. Loosely based on the F-100, it never saw service, though it seems it delivered on its performance and was a useful test bed. Ultimately it was flown-off against the F105, to which it lost and the project was cut.
