Production Notes

This is the sixth edition of the Portsmouth Polytechnic Motorcycle Club magazine. Produced in October 1984 for the Freshers introduction, as a club sponsored activity to make life more interesting for the student membership.

This issue has largely been produced by the Clarke household, with contributions from Andy and Jez. The magazine is single sided, so the punter only got 12 pages, instead of the more usual 20 or so. It was produced on A4 paper, stapled together. The price had reached 40p for far fewer pages.

The editors rant at the front about prior club officials is interesting, if only from the point of view that these were the club members in those poor prior years. Also, Louise's brother was a committee member in those prior years, was there a hint at family discord? ;-)

Martin found this issue, and sent it over with a bundle of other issues. I scanned it in using an Epson 1250 scanner, then edited the images in Adobe Photoshop CS3. I changed the image contrast, and scaled the images down to approximately 600 * 900 pixels. I did do one bit of gratuitous editing: I removed the addresses of the committee members. As they are now long gone from these addresses, I don't think it's necessary to subject the current occupants to any public abuse.

And after all this time, there is still work by Tony and myself in this issue!
